In late 2023 Elgin Artists applied to Boroondara Arts to hold an exhibition in the Hawthorn Arts Centre and after an extensive application process we were accepted!
We had determined a theme of ‘Resting Places in Boroondara’ where this exhibition represented the many and varied places that Elgin Artists would find to rest during their regular walks around the city of Boroondara when taking a break from painting in their studio.
Consequently, 24 works were produced over the next 12 months, and it was then installed by the staff of Boroondara Arts – who did a wonderful job with the hanging.
The Exhibition ran from 24th September to the 9th of November 2024, with an official opening on Saturday 5thOctober. Presentations were made by the Boroondara Arts Curator Elle Hale – who oversaw the installation - and the Elgin Artists President Dee Clements who expressed her thanks to Boroondara and the ‘teams’ that brought this exhibition to fruition.
